| Firstly, we as the North Canberra Netball Committee (NCNC) Committee wanted to thank you all for your continued patience and support during this time. We understand that there have been so many uncertainties around the season during the current lockdowns. We wanted to exhaust all avenues that were available to complete the season, and wanted to get as much information as we could from our Netball Community through our recent survey, advice from Netball ACT and from the ACT Government. With the recent announcement this week with extension of the lockdown until October 15th, and no clarity of the future beyond then, NCNC have made the difficult decision to deem the season complete inline with Netball ACT announcement that was posted on their Facebook page today. Whilst this wasn’t the outcome we would have hoped for, we agree that this is the appropriate action to take under the circumstances. We also wanted to extend a huge thank to you everyone for their participation in our NCNC survey that was sent out to all a few weeks ago. This was very helpful in understanding the views and concerns of our community and we have provided a snippet of the survey results (below) as a courtesy for your participation. With regard to the season and the final placements, we have used the survey results to inform how to best resolve the outcome along with other observations. The survey indicated most not favouring a first past the post outcome. With three rounds remaining, we also believed that it would have be been premature to reach an outcome based on the results so far. As you would all know, final rounds and a finals environment can result in different outcomes. For these reasons, and inline with Netball ACT announcement today, we will not be announcing any divisional winners for the Junior, Inters, Cadets and Senior Categories. SET and GO will still receive their participation ribbons and we will endeavour to get these out to clubs as soon as possible. Any announcements on summer competitions will be made when appropriate and if restrictions allow.
